Russian Space Food - Biscuits

Russian Space Food - Biscuits

Russian biscuits in a bar-shaped packet from the early 1990s. This is an example of the kind of food that was eaten on the Russian space station Mir.

Foods that are ready to eat such as fruit bars, nuts, and biscuits are classified as natural form foods. They are usually packaged in flexible pouches that are cut open with scissors. Space food needed to be light, nutritional and capable of remaining fresh for long periods of time.
