Shampooed Cloth for Cleaning Hair
Shampooed Cloth for Cleaning Hair
This low foam shampoo is vacuum packed with a cloth wipe for hair cleaning on the Mir space station. Cleaning in space can be difficult and although Mir had a shower – most cosmonauts preferred to simply wipe themselves clean with cloths. This shampoo and cloth pack could have been used in the Mir shower (which was powered by a fan creating an airflow), or simply with the help of wet cloths to wipe off the shampoo afterwards.Between 1986 and 2001 Mir operated in low Earth orbit and hosted over 100 individuals. It served as a microgravity research laboratory where cosmonauts could live and work on long duration missions. At the time, it was the largest artificial satellite to orbit the Earth, until it was succeeded by the International Space Station.
