Apollo 7 Mission Patch
This patch was designed for the Apollo 7 mission by the crew of Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele, and Walt Cunningham.The patch depicts an Apollo Command Module orbiting Earth. Apollo 7 was the first crewed Apollo spacecraft, with the mission testing the vehicle over the course of just under eleven days. The mission was the return to spaceflight for NASA after the tragic accident that saw the crew of Apollo 1 die in a launch pad test after a fire broke out inside the spacecraft in January 1967.
This particular patch was part of a collection of patches acquired by British-born professor of endocrine and metabolic surgery Anthony Goode, during his years working with NASA’s Life Sciences Division.
