Apollo 8 Mission Patch
Apollo 8 Mission Patch
This patch was designed for the Apollo 8 mission by crew member Jim Lovell, who sketched a design that was later drawn up by a NASA artist.Along with fellow crew members Frank Borman and Bill Anders, Lovell proposed a patch design that represented the mission's goal of flying to the Moon and back. A large eight includes the crew members' names and shows the flight path that the mission took, flying to the Moon and back in 1968.
This particular patch was part of a collection of patches acquired by British-born professor of endocrine and metabolic surgery Anthony Goode, during his years working with NASA’s Life Sciences Division.
