Gemini 10 Mission Patch

Gemini 10 Mission Patch

This mission patch was designed to commemorate Gemini 10, which was flown by astronauts John Young and Michael Collins.

Young came up with the idea for the patch design, which he then got his wife - who was an artist - to develop. It depicts a large Roman numeral number 10 being circled by the Gemini spacecraft and the Agena Target Vehicle. The mission involved the Gemini spacecraft rendezvousing and docking with the Agena, which is being played out in the patch design. Two stars represent the Gemini constellation, as well as the fact that the mission had two astronauts.

This particular patch was part of a collection of patches acquired by British-born professor of endocrine and metabolic surgery Anthony Goode, during his years working with NASA’s Life Sciences Division.
