NASA Gemini Mission Patch

NASA Gemini Mission Patch

This Gemini programme mission patch includes a gold Zodiac Gemini symbol with two stars representing the Gemini twins, Castor and Pollux.

The Gemini programme was NASA's follow up to the Mercury programme, designed to help solve the problems that needed to be overcome to send astronauts to the Moon. The Gemini spacecraft was developed to accommodate two astronauts, which lead to Alex Nagy of NASA Headquarters coming up with the Gemini name.

This particular patch was part of a collection of patches acquired by British-born professor of endocrine and metabolic surgery Anthony Goode, during his years working with NASA’s Life Sciences Division.
