NASA 'Meatball' Logo Commemorative
This NASA patch was manufactured by A-B Emblem, one of NASA's official patch producers.The round red, white, and blue logo, nicknamed the "meatball," was designed by NASA employee James Modarelli in 1959. The design includes a round shape to represent a planet, with stars representing space. The red v-shaped wing represents aeronautics, whilst the circular orbit around the word NASA represents space exploration.
