SpaceX CRS-6 Dragon Falcon 9 Patch
SpaceX CRS-6 Dragon Falcon 9 Patch
This SpaceX mission patch was designed for the CRS-6 Dragon Falcon 9 mission.CRS-6 - standing for Commercial Resupply Services - was the sixth SpaceX mission to resupply the International Space Station (ISS) as part of a commercial contract with NASA. The Dragon spacecraft carried over 2,000 kilogrammes of cargo, including provisions for the crew as well as science experiments. The cargo also included a new espresso machine for use aboard the ISS.
The Dragon spacecraft was launched on a Falcon 9 rocket, with both featuring on the patch design. The International Space Station is also depicted on the patch. The four leaf clover is a common feature on SpaceX patch designs. The symbol was first used on the patch for the Falcon 1 rocket in 2008 - as a lucky charm. This was the fourth attempt to launch a Falcon 1 rocket, so when it was successful, SpaceX adopted the symbol and continued using it on many other patch designs. The launch of Falcon 1 made SpaceX the first private company to send a fully liquid-fuelled rocket into orbit.
