STS-2 Mission Patch
STS-2 Mission Patch
This mission patch was designed for the Space Shuttle mission STS-2. The crew of Joe Engle and Richard Truly designed the patch. The patch depicts the Space Shuttle Columbia with an eagle and American flag. This was the second Space Shuttle mission for Columbia and the first time a spacecraft had been re-flown with a different crew, beginning the reusable spacecraft era.
This particular patch was part of a collection of patches acquired by British-born professor of endocrine and metabolic surgery Anthony Goode, during his years working with NASA’s Life Sciences Division.
