STS-3 Mission Patch
STS-3 Mission Patch
This mission patch was designed by space artist Robert McCall, working with crew members Jack Lousma and Gordon Fullerton, for the Space Shuttle mission STS-3.The patch depicts the Space Shuttle Columbia in front of the Sun, with three rays extending furthest to represent this being the third Space Shuttle mission. The Remote Manipulator System (RMS) can be seen extending out of the Shuttle's cargo bay doors - something that happened multiple times during the mission.
This particular patch was part of a collection of patches acquired by British-born professor of endocrine and metabolic surgery Anthony Goode, during his years working with NASA’s Life Sciences Division.
