STS-8 Mission Patch
This mission patch was designed for the Space Shuttle mission STS-8 by the crew of Richard Truly, Daniel Brandenstein, Guion Bluford, Dale Gardner, and William Thornton.The patch design includes the Space Shuttle Challenger launching into space. Eight stars can be seen in the background, representing the fact that this was the eighth Space Shuttle mission.
This particular patch was part of a collection of patches acquired by British-born professor of endocrine and metabolic surgery Anthony Goode, during his years working with NASA’s Life Sciences Division.
