Facilities and Access
-
At the National Space Centre, we are dedicated to making sure everybody has the perfect day out.
Alongside our access provision listed here, we have also created multiple events for our wide and varied audiences:
Space Lates - Quieter evenings with talks and workshops for those who want to delve deeper into space science.
Accessible Afternoons - An afternoon to support children, young adults and families with additional needs and disabilities, designed for SEND visitors who would benefit from a quieter experience.
Small Space Days - A day of exploration for our littlest visitors. The Centre is not open to groups or schools on this day, so small children are able to toddle, explore and engage with the exhibition freely.
SEN Home Education Days - An accessible day dedicated to SEN (Special Educational Needs) home educated children and their families
Free Carer Ticket
When purchasing a disabled concession ticket you can add a FREE ticket for a Carer to assist during your visit. Please bring proof of PIP or DLA to claim the free ticket. (please note - FREE Carer tickets are not offered on adult/child/under 5 tickets).
Parking
We have over 400 spaces in our car park, including 23 enhanced accessibility spaces, all charged at £4 pay and display for the whole day.
Space Crew
Our experts in the galleries, look out for members of Space Crew if you have any questions or need assistance.
Toilets
Male, female and disabled toilets are situated throughout the centre.
Changing Places
We have a Changing Places facility behind the LIVE Space gallery.
Baby Changing
Facilities for changing babies are situated next to the Cargo Bay shop.
First Aid
A first aid trained member of staff is always on duty.
Lost Property
Our security team and Space Crew are here to help if you find you have lost anything during your day out.
