How to find us
National Space Centre, Exploration Drive, Leicester, LE4 5NS
The National Space Centre is located just off the A6, two miles north of Leicester City Centre, midway between Leicester’s inner and outer ring roads.
Brown road signs with a distinctive rocket logo will direct you from the arterial routes around Leicester.
We have over 400 parking spaces in our car park, including 23 enhanced accessibility spaces, charged at £3 pay and display for the whole day.
First Bus 54 runs every 10 mins throughout the day Monday to Saturday and every 20 mins on Sunday running from 9.30am.
The bus stop is only 2 minutes’ walk away from the National Space Centre.
East Midland Trains and Cross Country Trains serve Leicester Station. From here you can either take a bus or a taxi to the National Space Centre.
First bus 54 runs every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 20 minutes on Sunday from Charles Street, a short walk from the station.
Park & Ride
The National Space Centre, Abbey Pumping Station and Dock all now have their very own Park and Ride bus stop. Just head to the Birstall Park and Ride site and hop on a bus to us.
The stop is on Abbey Lane, opposite ASDA supermarket and just a short walk to the Centre (just look for the Rocket Tower). The Park and Ride option is a great option for special events, wet school holiday days and when the 400 spaces in our car park are full.
Birstall Park & Ride Site, Loughborough Rd, Leicester LE4 4NP
The National Space Centre has over 400 onsite parking spaces, including a coach park and accessible spaces. Please note that on special/premium events and February/October half term periods all three car parks can fill VERY quickly (consider Birstall Park and Ride and an alternative).
All vehicles are parked at the owners risk and the National Space Centre takes no responsibility for any damage to vehicles made by other car park users.
The following fees are in place 09:00-17:00.
The charge covers the upkeep of the facility, meaning that the charity money can be used to ensure the curation of the artefact collection and our focus on education for schools, families, children and adults.
It also means that those not using the car park, do not pay for the facility.
